What types of staff do you have available?
- Registered Nurses: Professionaly trained and licensed nurses provide skilled services, supervise other caregivers and coordinate patient care ordered by the physician.
- Licensed Practical Nurses: Professional trained and licensed nurses who provide direct patient care and train family memebers and friends to assist in providing care to the patient.
- Certified Nursing Assistants: Experienced caregivers with expanded training and testing, provide hands-on patient care.
- Home Health Aides: Experienced caregivers, priding themselves in providing personalized hands-on patient care under the supervision of Registered Nurses.
What types of care do our patients receive?
Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses:
- Medication Administration: oral, injections, feeding tube
- Medical Treatments: Suctioning, wound care, dressing changes, ventilator care, tracheostomy care
- Nursing Assessments: Vital signs, diagnositic testing
- Communication with physicians
- Supervision of professional and allied health providers
Certified Nursing Assistants and Home Health Aides:
- Activities of Daily Care: bathing, dressing
- Food Preparation and Feeding
- Laundry and Housekeeping
- Ambulation assistance and exercise
- Recreational activities
- Transportation
How are our personnel selected, supervised and trained?
- All clinical staff are secuirty screened
- All clinical staff must have experience and proven expertise
- All clinical staff must pass numerous examinations prior to hire
- All clinical staff must participate in in-service training programs specific to their areas of practice throughout the year
- All clinical staff are supervised by a Registered Nurse
Does your staff come to my hospital or nursing home bedside?
YES. Hospitalized patients receive high quality skilled nursing care and supervised assistance care. Occasionally, however, additional bedside, one-on-one attention is required. Families may feel more comfortable about their loved one's hospitalization when personalized staff are hired.
Abcare's staff provide hospitalized patients with:
- Immediate bedside care
- Immediate bedside supervision and surveillance
- Direct reporting to family members
- Assistance to hospital personnel with their patient's needs
- Constant and consistent companionship
- Communication with hospital staff on patient's behalf
- Attention to follow-through with patient's needs for care including pain medication and bathroom needs
All hospitalized patients:
- Remain under the supervision and direction of hospital staff
- Receive care from hospital staff along with agency companionship
- Receive one-on-one personalized care
- Are encouraged to contact agency nursing management for questions and personal requests
What is the Minimum Hours of Service for Private Pay Home Care?
Generally, a minimum of four hours of care
